01 / THE BRIEF

A new kitchen. Work behind the finish.

This kitchen renovation in King’s Cross, Central London, combined a new fitted kitchen with herringbone splashback tiling and specialist works to the existing services. The age and condition of the plumbing and electrics meant the project required more than fitting new units and appliances.

The home-survey photographs show the original kitchen before the refurbishment, while the customer’s photographs show the completed space in everyday use.

02 / THE SCOPE

The installation, and the specialist works.

  • Kitchen installation and refurbishment
  • Worktop and sink installation
  • Herringbone splashback tiling, including setting out and cuts around the kitchen
  • Additional specialist plumbing works to address older existing services
  • Additional specialist electrical works to address older existing services
  • Gas hob installation and associated plumbing coordination
  • Coordination of the installation and finishing trades

03 / THE APPROACH

Preparing the services. Coordinating the details.

The home survey helped us assess the existing kitchen and the work needed alongside the main installation. Additional specialist plumbing and electrical requirements arose because of the age and condition of the existing services.

We coordinated those works with the kitchen installation and splashback tiling. The herringbone pattern required careful setting out and cutting around the worktops and fittings to carry the finish through the kitchen.

04 / THE OUTCOME

A refreshed space, ready for everyday use.

The finished kitchen pairs grey gloss cabinets and pale worktops with a light herringbone splashback, a black sink and tap, and under-cabinet lighting. The plumbing and electrical works supported the wider refurbishment behind the visible finish.

The completed photographs were kindly shared in the customer’s review, as we were unable to take our own completion photographs.

My kitchen has old plumbing and electrics. Can you still fit a new one?

Yes, we can assess what needs to change as part of the installation. This King’s Cross job needed additional specialist work because of the existing services. We’ll explain the work identified in your property and agree any extra costs before proceeding.

Could I choose different cabinets or splashback tiles?

Yes. This project shows one client’s choices. Share the kitchen and finishes you have in mind, and we’ll review the fitting requirements, tile layout and preparation needed for your own installation.
